Your Questions About Science Behind Hair

Lizzie asks…
Curly or straight hair? and science?
What is the scientific reason for having curly or straight hair? I think it has something to do with sulfuhydroxyl bridges and sulfur bonds. Thanks in advance:)
Joy answers:
You’re right. People with curly hair tend to have more sulfur bonds in their hail follicles, causing them to be attracted to each other and bend. When you straighten your hair with a heating iron, the high temperature causes the sulfur bonds to break and leave hair straighter.
